Faxe Ladeplads

Faxe Ladeplads originated in 1862-1864.

Faxe Ladeplads originated in 1862-1864, when the manor Bregentved, together with Vemmetofte Convent designed the city harbour to disembark limestone from Faxe Limestone Quarry.

The village grew, and about 1890 tourism became increasingly important.

Throughout the summer, about 25.000 vacationing guests arrived from Copenhagen with train or steamship.

Today Faxe Ladeplads has a yacht harbour with room for 120 yachts.

In Faxe Ladeplads Mini Park you kan enjoy the present and the past at the same time.

The Old City is displayed in miniature next to the minigolf course. The houses are displayed faithfully to the original in the smallest details; new buildings are continually being added.

For those wishing to see how the houses are made the Workshop of the Miniature City is worth a visit.

The worshop is open Monday to Friday 9.00-12.00 a.m. The adress is Hovedgaden 29.
